Harold Richard Gosse, 84, passed away Thursday, March 20, 2025 at Swedish American Hospital in Rockford, Illinois. Harold was born on July 31, 1940 to Harvey and Ethel (Firth) Gosse in Independence, Iowa. He served with the United States Marines from June of 1958 to June of 1961. On October 7, 1961, he married Patricia Price in Independence, IA.
Harold loved spending time with family and friends. In his younger years, he enjoyed snowmobiling. Harold also enjoyed boating in Wisconsin, spending winters in Florida and his patio chats with family and neighbors. As an avid fan of the Chicago Cubs, Chicago Bears and NASCAR, he was known to cheer on and coach his teams from his family room armchair.
Harold is survived by his wife of 63 years, Patricia of Rochelle: his daughter, Angela (Dennis) Byrd of Rochelle, IL; daughter-in-law, Leanne (McGee) Gosse of Rochelle; sisters-in-law: Diana Price, Linda Hummel, and Linda Martin Gosse all of Independence, IA; six grandchildren: Kristen (
