Roger A. Hosfeld, 88, of Rockford, passed away on Sunday, June 30, 2024, at home. Born April 19, 1936, in Rockford, the son of Arthur and Elsie (Billock) Hosfeld. A 1954 graduate of East High School, he continued his education at Purdue University, graduating with a degree in Chemical Engineering. Roger married Marsha Cowen in 1986. He worked for Sundstrand Aerospace for 30 years, traveling the world during his time in the Overhaul and Repair department, enjoying many friendships with company representatives, repair facility employees, and his airline customers. After taking early retirement, he was content to putter in his garden, work on the computer, and he also became an avid reader. He enjoyed home-brewing beer for many years and was a Charter Member of the Forest City Brewers. He and Marsha took many trips in the USA and abroad. In recent months he had the pleasure of making friends in the Venezuelan community in Rockford who brought meals, including his favorite: empanadas. His
