Viola L. Grindle, 97, of Rockford, passed away on Thursday, June 27, 2024. Born September 11, 1926, in Rockford, the daughter of Carl Edward and Tekla Maria (Nilsson) Severin. Graduate of East High School, Class of 1945. Viola married Robert G. Grindle, Sr. on September 13, 1947. He predeceased her on December 14, 2015. She was a member of Bethesda Covenant Church where she was part of Bethesda Lao Ministries, Alley Walk, Choir, Classica Chorale and was a baseball coach. Viola was also a member of Midway Village, Par tee Golfer, Jenny Lind Society and Erlander.
Survived by her children, Susan (Jerry) Antczak, James (Annie) Grindle, Gail (Beverly) Grindle, Jack (Penny) Grindle, and Robert (Delinda) Grindle; sister, Britta Peterson; 13 grandchildren; 21 great-grandchildren; and one great-great-grandson. Also predeceased by her parents; granddaughter, Rikki; and great-grandchild, K.C. and Roxanne.
Memorial Services will be held at 11:30 a.m. on Monday, July 8, 2024 at Bethesda Covenant C
