Arlen L. Lehrke, 93, of Rockford, passed away June 30, 2024, surrounded by his children and wife of almost 67 years. Born January 23, 1931, in Chaseburg, Wisconsin to Herb and Gladys (Hill) Lehrke. Married Irene Runningen on August 3, 1957, in Stoddard, Wisconsin, not long after, they moved to Rockford when Arlen found work in Beloit, WI. After a series of jobs including a time at Burson Knitting Company Arlen chose to work for the U.S. Postal Service as a letter carrier which he did until retirement. He was active in the National Letter Carriers Association and later the YMCA Retired Men's Club. After retiring Arlen and Irene enjoyed wintering in Mesa, Arizona in a "tiny house" meant for retirees.
Together they raised four children. Arlen spent a lot of time with his children taking them fishing, bike riding, and camping in the summer and sledding in the winter. Arlen was very active in his faith and with his family attended Trinity Lutheran Church in Rockford until he and Irene move
