Vickie Tripp of Rockford departed this earthly life June 22, 2024. She was born May 13, 1968 in Rockford, IL, the daughter of Betty Dowthard and Johnnie Barnard. Vickie married Wilson Tripp March 2, 1995. She attended West High School and Rock Valley College. Vickie brought joy and laughter to her family. She was known to love and to give children nicknames that followed them into their adulthood. Vickie showed a interest in black culture and a variety of music. Vickie loved seafood, a fan of football but most importantly her favorite team was the Pittsburgh Steelers.
Vickie leaves to cherish many loving memories, her husband, Wilson; three daughters, Victoria (Decolieon) Williams, Wanique Tripp and Whissper Tripp; three sons, William Kidd III, Wilson Tripp III, and Quintavian Tripp; 11 grandchildren; father Johnnie (Dutchlyn) Barnard; four sisters, Karen, Janet, Betty, and Angel Dowthard; two brothers, Vince Dowthard and Timothy Dowthard; a host of nieces, nephews, and other relative
